2023-24 Big Ten Home & Away Opponents Announced

The Big Ten announced conference home and away opponents on Thursday for the 2023-24 season.
COLUMBUS, Ohio?– The Big Ten Conference announced on Thursday the home and away conference opponents for the 2023-24 women's basketball season. Each of the 14 Big Ten programs will play an 18-game conference slate.
Ohio State's tough conference schedule includes a pair of matchups against the reigning Big Ten Tournament Champion and NCAA runner-up Iowa Hawkeyes. The Buckeyes will also play Maryland and Michigan twice each as the Terrapins come off an Elite Eight appearance and the Wolverines were also a consistent top-25 team in 2022-23 before meeting eventual NCAA Champion LSU in the second round of the tournament. OSU will face Michigan State and Penn State twice each during the 2023-24 season after just one meeting with each team this past season.
The Buckeyes' home-only slate includes the 2023 Big Ten regular season champion Indiana Hoosiers in addition to Nebraska, Rutgers and Wisconsin. Ohio State will solely play on the road at Illinois after the Illini's remarkable turnaround with a new coaching staff in 2022-23, as well as Minnesota, Northwestern and Purdue – another Big Ten team that made the NCAA Tournament.
In 2022-23, Ohio State made its first NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 30 years and finished with a 28-8 overall record. The Buckeyes finished as the runner-up in the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 4 seed after completing the largest comeback in conference tournament history in the semifinals (24-point deficit in the third quarter). The Buckeyes were one of three undefeated teams in the country midway through January, posting the best start in program history at 19-0. OSU earned a program-best nine wins against ranked opponents and recorded the most steals (406) in program history. The Buckeyes' three wins against top-10 opponents is the most since the 1992-93 season. The team generated the largest average home attendance (5,955) since the 2005-06 season.
The 2023-24 non-conference schedule and dates for the Big Ten schedule will be announced later this summer.
