No. 8 Buckeyes Shut Out Nebraska, 4-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 8 Ohio State women's tennis team improved to 14-5 this season and 6-0 in the Big Ten with a 4-0 win over Nebraska outside in the Auer Tennis Center Friday afternoon. The Buckeyes captured the doubles point and three straight set singles wins for their sixth victory in a row.
The tandems of Irina Cantos Siemers/Kathleen Jones and Shelly Bereznyak/Sydni Ratliff posted wins for the doubles point. Danielle Willson, Lucia Marzal and Kolie Allen all won in singles.
Quoting head coach Melissa Schaub
"It was great to get a home match outside! I thought we had an awesome crowd which also helps. We are celebrating five seniors on Sunday that have given so much to our program. Hopefully we can send them off the right way on Sunday."

Admission and parking are free to all Ohio State regular season home matches. The match vs. the Hawkeyes is scheduled to be played outside at the Auer Tennis Complex but will be moved inside the Ty Tucker Tennis Center in the event of inclement weather. In Doubles
- The court three doubles duo of Irina Cantos Siemers and Kathleen Jones cruised to a 6-1 win over Anfisa Danilchenko and Lucy Loy.
- On court two, Shelly Bereznyak and Sydni Ratliff were 6-4 winners over Isabel A. Gallego and Ana Carmen Zamburek to clinch the doubles point.
- The Buckeyes' court one duo of Danielle Willson and Kolie Allen had just saved match point with Nebraska's Samantha Alicea and Raphaëlle Lacasse serving 5-4, 40-40 when the doubles point was sealed. The match was suspended at 5-all.
In Singles
- Buckeye Danielle Willson dropped just one game on court six vs. Lucy Loy, as she posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory. She is 5-0 in dual matches.
- On court four, Lucia Marzal put the Buckeyes up 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Anfisa Danilchenko. She broke on the no-ad point in the second set for the victory, moving her winning streak to 10 and improving to 13-1 on the year.
- Kolie Allen clinched the team victory, as she topped Raphaëlle Lacasse, 6-2, 6-1 on court five.
- Buckeyes Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff were up a set and leading in the second on courts one and two, respectively, when play was halted.
