
Outright Champions! Buckeyes Beat IU For Undefeated B1G Season

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 2 Ohio State capped off an undefeated Big Ten season with a 7-0 win over Indiana on Sunday to secure the outright Big Ten title. This was the Buckeyes’ record-setting 17th consecutive Big Ten title.
Ohio State blew through the doubles matches quickly, winning the point in 26 minutes. They then dominated in the singles matches as well, winning all six in straight sets.
The Buckeyes remain perfect at home, improving to 17-0 and are now 26-2 overall on the season. They finished conference play unblemished at 9-0. The was the program’s 20th Big Ten title.
Doubles
- It would take just 26 minutes for the Buckeyes to secure the doubles point after dominant performances on courts one and two.
- Andrew Lutschaunig and James Trotter finished first for the Buckeyes on court one. The pair served a shutout, in just 14 minutes, topping Patrick Fletchall and Ilya Tiraspolsky 6-0. The Buckeye duo is ranked No. 14 nationally and have now reached the ten-win mark with a record of 10-6 heading into the conference tournament.
- Buckeyes Robert Cash and Justin Boulais started with a 5-0 lead over Sam Landau and Luc Boulier before surrendering two games to the Hoosiers. The Buckeyes would then finish the match on serve to win 6-2, improving to 18-4 on the year.
- Cannon Kingsley and JJ Tracy faced off against Hoosier foes Luka Vukovic and Ekansh Kumar on court three and would lead the match 5-3 at the conclusion of doubles play.
Singles
- All singles matches were played through on Sunday afternoon. The Buckeyes started by winning the first set on all six courts, then continued to dominate into the second and won all six matches in straight sets.
- Trotter finished first on court four in swift fashion. Displaying his strong serve, Trotter would win the first set 6-2, then finished off Tiraspolsky in the second by a margin of 6-1. The No. 29-ranked Buckeye remained perfect on the season at 23-0 to end the regular season.
- On court three, No. 16-ranked Tracy had his way against Vukovic in the first set, winning it 6-1. Tracy then swept the second set 6-0 to finish off the match and add another tally for the Buckeyes.
- Not long after Tracy finished on court three, Kingsley wrapped up his match on court two against Landau. Kingsley, the No. 20-ranked player in the country, eased his way to a 6-1, 6-2 win.
- On court one, Boulais battled his way through the first set against Fletchall and held on to win it 7-5. In the second set, Boulais ramped up the pace and jumped out to a 5-0 lead before closing out the match with a second set win with a score of 6-1.
- Cash finished just after Boulais on court five, taking the first set 6-3, then sweeping the second set 6-0 over Jagger Saylor. The Buckeye is now 16-1 in his senior campaign and continues to play well at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
- Redshirt-freshman Jack Anthrop finished the match for the Buckeyes on court six against Kumar. Anthrop outlasted Kumar in back-to-back 7-5 set wins and secured the clean sweep for the Buckeyes.

- Ohio State will be the No. 1 seed in next week’s Big Ten Tournament hosted by Indiana. The Buckeyes will play in the quarterfinals at 9 a.m. on Friday morning against the winner of the match between Indiana and Penn State.
