
Ohio State Claims 17th Lady Buckeye Invitational Title

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 25 Ohio State women’s golf team captured its 17th Lady Buckeye Invitational title in program history on Sunday. The Buckeyes shot an overall 54-hole team score of 854 (-10) and finished nine strokes ahead of second-place Michigan State.
“This was a total team effort,” said head coach Lisa Strom, who won her second Lady Buckeye in as many years. “I’m so proud of the work they have been putting in. It feels great to win at home in the final Lady Buckeye. We’ll enjoy this one tonight and get ready to gear up for Big Tens next weekend.”
Caley McGinty led the way for the Buckeyes, finishing in third place. She carded a 76 (+4) in the final round of play for a three-round total of 211 (-5).
Kary Hollenbaugh shot 74 (+2) in round three and totaled a 54-hole score of 214 (-2). She tied for sixth place.
Kailie Vongsaga jumped up eight spots in the standings to finish tied for 14th. She shot even (72) on the final 18 holes of play and finished the Lady Buckeye with a score of 217 (+1).
Lauren Peter carded a 75 (+3) in the third round for a 54-hole score of 219 (+3). She finished tied for 18th place.
Aneka Seumanuatafa and Jillian Bourdage finished in a seven-way tie for 20th place. Seumanutafa shot 75 (+3) and Bourdage shot 77 (+5) in the third round. Both finished with a 54-hole total score of 220 (+4).
Faith Choi and Emily Hummer competed as individuals. Choi tied for 31st place with a total score of 222 (+6) after shooting a 75 (+3) in the final round and Hummer tied for 41st place with a total score of 225 (+9) after carding a 76 (+4) in round three.
Next up for the Buckeyes is the Big Ten Championships, which will be held April 21-23 at Fox Chapel Country Club in Pittsburgh, Pa.
