Buckeyes Garner 17 All-CCFC Accolades

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Seventeen members of the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference men’s and women’s championships programs have been named to the All-CCFC teams. These honorees were recognized for their excellent contributions to their team, both on and off the strip.
Six men and five women were first team selections. Ohio State took all three spots on the men’s foil squad, with Diego Cervantes, Solin Li and Edriss Ndiaye honored. Paul Veltrup and Miles Weiss were recognized for epee and Jack Price was a first team selection in sabre. For the women, Ohio State had two epee honorees – Yeva Mazur and Montserrat Viveros – and two foil selections – Alina Lee and Dasha Myroniuk. Julieta Toledo was a first team selection in sabre.
Claire Teresa Galavotti for women’s foil, Gabriel Feinberg in men’s epee and Nolan Williams in sabre were second team honorees.
Honorable mention accolades went to Kelly Feng of women’s epee, Eleonore Perrier for women’s sabre and Aaron Buergenthal in men’s sabre.
At the CCFC individual championships, Mazur, Myroniuk and Toledo all claimed women’s titles and Li and Weiss were event winners for the men.
Saturday, the Buckeyes head to Evanston, Ill., for the NCAA Regionals. The NCAA Championships will be March 23-26 in Durham, N.C.
