COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's and women's fencing programs combined for five weapon titles and 27 Top 8 finishes at the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Championships Sunday in French Field House. This is the third year of the CCFC and the first year the conference held individual championships. Saturday, the Buckeyes claimed their second consecutive women's and men's CCFC team titles and won five of six squad crowns.
The women earned the gold medal in all three events, with Eva Mazur, Dasha Myroniuk and Julieta Toledo victorious. Solin Li and Miles Weiss were event winners for the men.
In women's foil, Buckeye freshman Dasha Myroniuk, the top seed heading into the tableau, topped a Northwestern fencer in the final, 15-10. Claire Teresa Galavotti reached the semifinals to finish tied for third and Alina Lee placed fifth to earn a spot on the podium.
