
Buckeyes Earn WCHA Academic Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) announced its 2022-23 academic awards this week and 18 members of the Ohio State women’s hockey team earned at least one award.
WCHA All-Academic Team
Eighteen Buckeyes were named to the WCHA All-Academic Team. This award recognizes student-athletes who have completed one year of eligibility at their present institutions, prior to the academic year, and have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in their previous two semesters or three quarters.
Every player on the Ohio State roster who has satisfied the residency requirement of the award made the list. Graduates Madison Bizal, Sophie Jaques, Paetyn Levis, Emma Maltais and Gabby Rosenthal have all garnered a fourth All-Academic Team nod for their careers. In their fourth season at Ohio State, Brooke Bink, Jenn Gardiner, Quinn Kuntz and Ramsey Parent are three-time recipients of the award.

- Sophie Jaques – Gr. – Toronto, Ontario
- Raygan Kirk – Sr. – Ste Anne, Manitoba
- Quinn Kuntz – Sr. – Warroad, Minn.

WCHA Scholar-Athletes
Fourteen Ohio State women’s hockey student-athletes also picked up WCHA Scholar-Athlete honors. To earn recognition as a WCHA Scholar-Athlete, league-member student-athletes must have completed at least one year of residency at their present institution prior to the current academic year and must also have a grade point average of at least a 3.50 on a 4.0 scale for their previous two semesters or three quarters. Student-athletes may also qualify if their overall GPA is at least a 3.50 for all terms at their present institution.
