
Ohio State Competes at Stanford Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized (artistic) swimming program’s Scarlet team went on the road for the first time this year, competing in California at the Stanford Invitational. The Buckeyes earned two first-place finishes and a team score of 88 points in the meet against Stanford and UCLA.
In the first day of the invitational, the Buckeyes competed in technical routines. In A Figures, Ruby Remati took first (82.0566), followed by Nikki Dzurko (79.5078) in second and Emily Armstrong (78.0551) in third. Emma Spot (76.3963) and Paige Hopper (75.9881) rounded out the Buckeyes in the top-10 in eighth and 10th, respectively.
Dzurko continued her dominance in solo with another first-place result in Sunday’s routine competition. She earned a final score of 82.9333 to lead the category. Rose Homoelle took third with a score of 77.5000.
In duet, Buckeyes Armstrong and Remati scored an 80.4000 for second overall. Hopper and Spott teamed up for the first time in competition this season, placing third with a score of 77.2667.
The Ohio State trio of Dzurko, Hopper and Spott finished third with a 79.8333.
The Buckeyes competing in the team routine at the Stanford Invitational included Armstrong, Dzurko, Homoelle, Hopper, Reverie Nedde, Remati and Spott. The Buckeyes finished second in the category with a score of 80.9667.
Overall, the Buckeyes finished second at the meet to Stanford (99) and UCLA (72).
