Ohio State Opens New Stadium with 18-6 Victory

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Buckeyes christened their spectacular new Lacrosse Stadium with a season-opening, 18-6 victory over Robert Morris Friday afternoon. The game also represented the start of Season No. 4 for head coach Amy Bokker.
"What a great atmosphere," Bokker said following the game. "The team was feeling really good and we wanted to leave a great first impression."
A half dozen senior or graduate student Buckeyes didn't wait long to start celebrating in their new home. Senior Caly O'Brien scored the first goal in the new stadium just 67 seconds into the game, unassisted. Grad student Jamie Level followed with an unassisted goal 34 seconds later and when senior Nicole Ferrara scored the first of her five first quarter goals, Ohio State had a 3-0 lead just 2:45 into the game. Seniors Ashley Turner, Bryce Pfundstein and Sarah Klein also scored in the first quarter as the Buckeyes built a 10-1 advantage.
Ferrara, the leading returning scorer on the team now with 74 goals and 109 career points, led the way with her five goals. Her career high is six, set in 2021 against Northwestern.
Supporting Ferrara, who is riding a 22-game point streak, was Jamie Lasda with a game-high three assists to go along with one goal. Others with multiple points for the Buckeyes included Brynn Ammerman (2 goals; 2 assists), Pfundsein (1 goal; 1 assist) and Klein (2 goals).
After the 10-goal first quarter, underclassmen Amani Kimball-McKavish and Annie Hargraves, a freshman and sophomore, respectively, scored early in the second quarter and junior Lasda also got on the board with a goal with 3:40 left in the quarter to increase the lead to 13-2. Ohio State led 13-3 at the half.
Ammerman sored consecutively for the Buckeyes early in the third quarter, increasing the lead to 15-3. Casey Roberts' goal late in the third made it a 16-4 game and the home team cruised from there with the win.

- The Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium is located on the north end of the Ohio State Athletics District and is adjacent to the Ty Tucker Tennis Center, Covelli Arena/Jennings Wrestling Center, the Schumaker Complex and Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
- Ohio State is now 8-0 all-time against Robert Morris.
- Regan Alexander played the first half in goal and made three saves. Claire Morris and Whitney Robinson split time in the second half.
