- The No. 1 women’s hockey team swept Minnesota State over the weekend and will now hit a holiday break with a 16-2 overall record and a 13-1 mark in the WCHA.

- The women’s basketball team defeated Ohio and Penn State last week to stretch its winning streak to eight games while improving its records to 8-1 and 1-0 in the Big Ten. The team came back from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat the 25th-ranked Nittany Lions.

- The men’s basketball team (8-2 and 1-1 in the Big Ten) split two games last week and will next play against UCLA Saturday in Atlanta as part of the CBS Sports Classic.
- The men’s hockey team tied Top 10 Minnesota, 1-1 in overtime, Saturday evening but then picked up the extra conference point by winning the shootout, 1-0, in three rounds.
