
Buckeyes Sign Nine to National Letters of Intent

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s lacrosse head coach Nick Myers announced Wednesday the signing of nine student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. The signees will continue their academic and athletic careers at Ohio State next fall.
“We are excited to officially welcome these men to the Buckeye Brotherhood,” Myers said. “This group of men are exceptional both on the field and in the classroom and are a great fit for our program.”

Liam White | Midfield | Western Springs, Ill. | Boys' Latin School of Maryland | True Illinois Premier AA Lacrosse
Liam White is a four-year letterwinner for the Boys’ Latin School of Maryland lacrosse program. He was named the 2023 Baltimore Banner Spring Athlete of the Year and Baltimore Sun Second Team All-Metro for his performance last season for the Lakers. Inside Lacrosse’s No. 22 overall recruit in the class of the 2024, White helped True Illinois Premier AA Lacrosse earn a second overall ranking nationally in 2023. He is a two-time Under Armour All-American and earned Mainstage All-Star honors in 2022. In 2023, he helped his team to a Naptown Championship and Great 8 Championship.
Also a four-year letterwinner in football, White is a three-time all-conference honoree on the gridiron and was named captain of the Lakers’ squad in 2023.
White intends to major in business or sports marketing. This year, he is a student body government officer for Boys’ Latin School. His grandfather, Jim Nicklaus, played baseball at Ohio State and his cousin, Tanner Murphy, played golf for the Buckeyes.
Why Ohio State: “Ohio State has always been a dream for me to play lacrosse at. I was born into an Ohio State loving extended family and many family members have attended the school.”
Sean Magtoto | FOGO | Mira Mesa, Calif. | Cathedral Catholic H.S. | Mad Dog West Elite
Sean Magtoto is a four-year letterwinner and starter for Cathedral Catholic H.S. The two-time Western League Player of the Year is a First Team All-CIF honoree, CIF championship runner up and two-time captain for the Dons.
Magtoto also lettered in wrestling and served as captain for two seasons. On the mat, he is a First Team Western League team member and two-time CIF placer.
The Mira Mesa, Calif. native played club for Mad Dog West Elite. A four-star recruit, he is a Faceoff Factory Summit and Western Showcase overall champion. He also earned USA Lacrosse High School All-America honors.
Magtoto intends to major in business at Ohio State. Outside of sports, he serves at Feeding San Diego, which helps give healthy and good food for those who need it.

Dominic Shaw | Midfield | Columbus, Ohio | Pickerington Central H.S. | Resolute
Dominic Shaw is a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse at Pickerington Central H.S. and is a captain for the Tigers’ squad. Last season, he picked up Region 3 Position Player of the Year and OCC Player of the Year awards. The First Team All-State honoree was also selected to the All-Metro and All-Region 3 team after setting single season program records in assists and points.
Shaw also lettered in football and basketball at Pickerington Central. He helped the Tigers to a state championship in basketball his sophomore year and is a captain and a three-time OCC Buckeye for the football team.
Playing for Resolute Lacrosse, Shaw was named to the Under Armour All-America Midwest roster.
Shaw intends to major in business at Ohio State. Outside of sport, he is involved with service learning at an elementary school and coached with Urban Lacrosse.
Why Ohio State: “I chose Ohio State because of the brotherhood of the lacrosse team in addition to it being a good academic school. The lacrosse team is very diverse which stands out from the rest of college lacrosse.”
Angelo Lamatrice IV | Midfield | Powell, Ohio | Bishop Watterson H.S. | True Ohio
Angelo Lamatrice is a four-year varsity starter for Bishop Watterson H.S. A two-time varsity captain, Lamatrice earned the title of Regional Position Player of the Year in 2023 and picked up First Team All-Region and First Team All-State honors. The Team Offensive MVP also helped the Eagles to the Division II state final four in 2021.
Lamatrice played club for True Ohio, where he helped his team to a PLC championship and picked up All-Star honors in 2022. At the NXT Baltimore Showcase, he earned MVP, All-Star and Manney’s Men honors in 2021. The following year at the NXT Atlantic Showcase, he brought home All-Star and Manney’s Men awards.
Off the field, Lamatrice is a member of Morgan’s Message Club, Business Club and Bishop Watterson’s Student Council. He also serves as a student ambassador for his school.

Colin Puckett | Midfield | San Anselmo, Calif. | Marin Catholic H.S. | ADVNC
Colin Puckett is a four-year varsity starter at Marin Catholic. He led the Wildcats in scoring his sophomore season. That same year, he earned First Team All-League and Team MVP honors.
A member of the ADVNC North Bay lacrosse club, Puckett has been named Adrenaline All-American.
Following graduation from Ohio State, Puckett intends to work in the business field. Outside of lacrosse, he volunteers to make food for the homeless.
Why Ohio State: “Ohio State has the best fans in the world and I wanted to be a part of it. The atmosphere in the lacrosse team was something that I dreamed about since I was a little kid. I wanted to be a part of a team that cared for each other and was fighting for a common goal.”
Tommy Janowicz | Attack | Columbus, Ohio | Upper Arlington H.S. | True Ohio
Tommy Janowicz is a four-year letterwinner for Upper Arlington’s lacrosse team. He is a three-year varsity starter for the Golden Bears and helped the team to a state championship. The two-time captain has earned First Team All-OCC and All-State awards. Last season, he led the team in points and assists.
He also lettered for the Golden Bears’ football program, playing quarterback and outside linebacker. He served as captain for the team and earned First Team All-OCC honors.
Janowicz intends to major in finance at Ohio State and wants to pursue a career as a financial planner following graduation. He is an honors student at Upper Arlington and runs the school news show.
Janowicz’s father, Mike, played lacrosse at UMass and his uncles played at Butler, Delaware and Denver. His great uncle is Ohio State Heisman Trophy winner Vic Janowicz.
Why Ohio State: “I chose Ohio State because of the culture that I witnessed from the practices and games to the Buckeye Creed. Ohio State was always my dream school being that I lived less than 10 minutes from campus and is very close for most my family to come and watch.”
Jewel Walker | Midfield | Fort Washington, Md. | The Bullis School | PGLC
Jewel Walker is a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse for the Bullis School. In 2022, he was named All-IAC and helped the team to IAC regular season and playoff championships. Walker was also named IAC Championship MVP that same year after scoring two goals and adding an assist in the title game. He played club for PGLC and is a Naptown champion and national champion.
Walker is also a member of the Bulldogs’ basketball program, earning Washington Post Honorable Mention All-Met honors in 2022. He helped the program to IAC regular season and playoff championships in 2023.
Walker intends to major in business and wants to pursue real estate or accounting after graduation. He is the son of former NFL quarterback Jay Walker. His mother, Monique, swam for Emory and his sister, Jasmine, played lacrosse at George Washington.
Why Ohio State: “There is a standard of being a Buckeye as not only a student-athlete, but as a man. And I’m excited to fulfill that standard.”
Jack Lehman | Defense | Chester Springs, Pa. | Malvern Prep | Philadelphia Freedom
Jack Lehman is a four-year letterwinner for the Malvern Prep lacrosse team. He has helped the team to two Inter-AC Championships, first in 2022 and again in 2023.
He played 10 years for the Philadelphia Freedom lacrosse club and was a captain and starter for the team.
Lehman intends to major in business and earn a master’s degree before pursuing a career in business. He is the head of Malvern Preps’ sports debate club and spends time volunteering with the Special Olympics.
Why Ohio State: “I chose The Ohio State University because I wanted a big school experience in college. I also chose Ohio State because I want to win a Big Ten and national championship.”
Dorian Connolley | Midfield | Gibsons, B.C. | Claremont Secondary H.S. | Saanich Tigers
Dorian Connolley is a four-year midfielder for Claremont Secondary. As a member of Team B.C., he won national championships in both field and box. Connolley was picked by Port Coquitlam with the fourth overall pick of the 2022 British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League Draft.
In addition to lacrosse, Connolley was a wrestler and has won a Western Canada Age Class Championship in the sport.
