- Ohio State enters the match with a 9-14 record this season and a 6-8 record in Big Ten play after a four-set win (25-23, 27-29, 25-23, 25-23) against Indiana on Saturday night inside the Covelli Center as the Buckeyes' team effort featured four with 10+ kills, three with 10+ digs and a pair of double-doubles.
- Senior Emily Londot continues to lead Ohio State's offense and the Big Ten in kills/set (4.86) and points/set (5.24). She's among the top-10 in the country in both categories as of Tuesday. Londot earned the second 20 kill/20 dig match of her career on Saturday vs. Indiana with 25 kills and tied a career-high 21 digs.
- Fellow senior Rylee Rader leads the team this season in hitting percentage (.377 - fourth in the B1G) and is second on the team in aces (21). Lauren Murphy leads OSU with 31 aces, ranking third in the B1G with 0.44 aces/set after a career-high seven aces against Minnesota on Friday night.
- Freshman Mia Tuman ranks fifth in the Big Ten in assists/set (9.59) and broke into the top-20 in program history on 10/21, now ranking 17th with 767 assists. She earned Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week honors on Monday.
- Michigan State holds a 16-9 record and is 8-6 in Big Ten play this season following sweeps of Maryland (25-15, 25-18, 25-22) and Iowa (25-11, 25-21, 25-22) last weekend. On Oct. 28, the Spartans earned their first ranked win of the season against then No. 13 Penn State (25-19, 11-25, 16-25, 25-18, 18-16).Â
- Tayiah Holdem ranks ninth in the Big Ten in both kills/set (3.39) and points/set (3.83), while Amani McArthur ranks eighth in hitting percentage (.359) and blocks/set (1.15).
- Nalani Iosia is fourth in the conference with 4.17 digs/set. Cameron Berger (6.58 assists/set), Julia Bishop (5.81 assists/set) and Rachel Muisenga (4.29 assists/set) have all seen playing time in the setter role this season.
- Ohio State leads 52-32 in the all-time series against Michigan State and has the 28-8 advantage when facing the Spartans in Columbus. This is the lone meeting this season between Ohio State and Michigan State.
- The Buckeyes won the only meeting of the season in 2022 in straight sets (25-13, 25-18, 27-25) on Nov. 5 in East Lansing.
