COLUMBUS, Ohio -- No. 6 Ohio State (6-6-5) continues its postseason run at No. 2 Penn State (10-3-4) Wednesday in the semifinals of the 2023 Big Ten Tournament at Jeffrey Field in University Park, Pennsylvania. First touch is set for 6 p.m. with the Big Ten Network providing the national television broadcast.

The Big Ten announced it annual award winners just prior to the league tournament quarterfinals last week. Ohio State was well-represented. Laurence Wootton repeated as the league's Midfielder of the Year (2022-23) and was named First-Team All-Big Ten for the fourth time. He is just the sixth Big Ten player to earn the honor four times. Brian Maisonneuve, head coach of the Buckeyes, also did so at Indiana (1991-94).
Junior Michael Adedokun, graduate Siggy Magnusson and sophomore Luciano Pechota were named 2023 Second Team All-Big Ten while freshman Andre Roberts earned a spot on the All-Freshman squad.
The Buckeyes enter the match with the Nittany Lions with wins in their last three contests, two regular-season Big Ten Conference matches at Michigan State (3-2) and against Maryland (4-1) in Columbus, and most recently at Michigan State (1-0) in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals.
Ohio State defeated previously undefeated Michigan State in East Lansing during the regular season, 3-2. Sophomore Luciano Pechota scored twice, including the match-winner in the closing minutes. Freshman Andre Roberts netted the match winner at Michigan State the last time out.
Pechota's efforts earned him the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week (10/31/23).
Keeper Max Trejo has made 14 starts this season with four solo shutouts and one combined blanking to his credit. Ohio State is giving up just 1.18 goals per match with Trejo between the pipes.
Ohio State is 22-27-2 all-time in Big Ten Tournament competition in 32 seasons. The Buckeyes have won three league tournament titles (2000, 07, 09).
The Buckeyes are 3-6 overall against the Nittany Lions in Big Ten Tournament matches.
