The first game will be on Friday night against No. 17 Alabama. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on CBS Sports Network. Jordan Kent and Jordan Cornette will call the action.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State heads south this week to take part in the Emerald Coast Classic at the Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Fla. The first game will be on Friday night against No. 17 Alabama. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on CBS Sports Network. Jordan Kent and Jordan Cornette will call the action.
- The Buckeyes are playing away from home for the first time this season and will open against No. 17 Alabama on Friday evening. They will then take on either Oregon or Santa Clara on Saturday.
- Ohio State has a combined 7-5 all-time record against the other three teams in the event. This will be the seventh meeting against Alabama as the teams have split the previous six meetings 3-3. The most recent game came at the Hall of Fame Tip-off Classic in Springfield, Mass., in 2002 as the Crimson Tide pulled-out a 54-48 victory.
- The Buckeyes are coming off a 73-56 win over Western Michigan on Sunday evening in Columbus. Five Buckeyes scored in double figures as Jamison Battle and Roddy Gayle Jr. led the way with 13 points apiece. Battle made a season-high three three-pointers while Gayle Jr. also pulled-down a career-high eight rebounds. Bruce Thornton scored 12 points and dished-out five assists.
- Thornton leads the team in scoring at 15.3 points per game and his 9-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio this season is Top 10 in the country.
- Gayle Jr. is second on the team in scoring, rebounding and assists. He tied a career-high with 20 points against Merrimack and is averaging 14.8 ppg. His career-high eight boards against WMU helped push his rebounding average to 6.8, and he has also averaged 4.0 assists per game.Â
- Battle has made nine three-pointers on the year and has now made 266 three-pointers in his career. That number is tied for 15th among active players in the country. He is averaging nearly 2.5 threes per game in his career.
- Zed Key is among the Big Ten leaders in offensive rebounds per game. 13 of his 29 total rebounds have come on the offensive end. He is averaging 11.8 points and a team-best 7.3 rebounds per game this season.
- Alabama comes into the weekend at 4-0 and is second in the country in scoring at 101.8 points per game. The Crimson Tide lead the country in three-point shooting percentage at 48.9 percent and six players are averaging 8.0 ppg or better, led by Mark Sears at 19.5 points per game.
