Â
Minnesota got off to a quick start and did not trail in the 25-14 first set win. The Gophers opened scoring in the second set and earned a 25-9 set win. Minnesota capped the match with a 25-17 win in the third set.
Â

How it HappenedÂ
Minnesota scored the first three points of the match before Londot got the Buckeyes on the board. The Gophers built an early 7-3 lead but Ohio State got within two on a service ace from Lauren Murphy at 9-7. Minnesota used runs of three and four points to take an 18-10 lead amidst an OSU timeout. The Gophers led 23-11 after a 5-0 run and earned the 25-14 set win.
Â
The Gophers opened scoring in the second set and used runs of 4-0 and 3-0 to take a 12-6 lead, forcing a Buckeye timeout. Ohio State called a second timeout trailing 19-7. Minnesota used a 7-0 run to extend its lead late in the set and earned a 25-9 set win.
Â
Minnesota had the first four points of the third set before back-to-back Ohio State points. A 4-0 Gopher run gave them an 8-2 lead and prompted a Buckeye timeout. An OSU block from Kamiah Gibson and Eloise Brandewie cut the deficit to 15-9. The Buckeyes called a second timeout following a 3-0 Gophers run as OSU trailed 22-12. Ohio State scored four of the next five points out of that timeout but fell 25-17 in the set.
