COLUMBUS, Ohio – The top two teams in NCAA women's hockey faceoff this weekend in Columbus when No. 2 Ohio State hosts No. 1 Wisconsin Nov. 17-18 at the OSU Ice Rink. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday.

The series marks the first time since the 2023 national championship game that the Buckeyes (9-1-0, 8-0-0 WCHA) and Badgers (12-0-0, 8-0-0 WCHA) will meet. Both games will be streamed on B1G+ (subscription required).

Important Gameday Reminders – Game 2 – Saturday, Nov. 18

Parking and ticket scanning procedures will differ for Saturday's game due to the home football game at 4 p.m.
Women's hockey fans can park in any football Day of Game lots and must pay the football rate for Saturday's game. Day of Game spaces are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fans are encouraged to park early.
On Saturday, tickets for the women's hockey game will be scanned at the doors to the OSU Ice Rink.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell

While Ohio State had a bye week last weekend, three Buckeyes took the ice with their respective national teams. Cayla Barnes and Hannah Bilka played for Team USA in the first two games of the 2023-24 Rivalry Series. Sofie Lundin and Team Sweden played a three-game series against Switzerland.
Bilka and Jennifer Gardiner lead the team with 14 points on the year. Gardiner's 10 assists are a team high. Kiara Zanon and Sloane Matthews lead the team with six goals.
Gardiner is on a six-game point streak with 13 points in the last three series. She ranks ninth nationally in assists per game (1.00).
Ohio State is top-five in scoring margin (3.00), scoring offense (4.90) and win percentage (.900).
The Buckeyes have played three ranked opponents so far this season and are 5-1-0 in those ranked matchups. The team's next three series are also against ranked teams. Ohio State's schedule currently ranks as the toughest in the country.
Ohio State remains the second ranked team in the country in both the USCHO.com and USA Hockey/The Rink Live polls. This week, the Buckeyes received three first-place votes in the USCHO poll.
This weekend's series is the Buckeyes second on home ice of the 2023-24 series. The home slate opened with a sweep of No. 4 Minnesota Oct. 27-28. The Buckeyes won the first game 4-3 in overtime and the second, 6-5.
Ohio State Athletics Hall of Famer Tessa Bonhomme was named to the WCHA's 25th Anniversary Top-25 this week by the league. In her Buckeye career, she tallied 42 goals and 86 assists as a defenseman. She was the first Buckeye to earn AHCA First Team All-America honors and was a two-time Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award Top-10 Finalist.
The Buckeyes signed six student-athletes to National Letters of Intent over the past week. The signees are: Jordyn Petrie, Grace McCoshen, Genny Klein, Maria Roth, Josie St. Martin and Mira Jungaker.
Ohio State is home for the remainder of the 2023 slate, with home series against No. 7 St. Lawrence Nov. 24-25, No. 10 St. Cloud Sate Dec. 1-2 and Minnesota State Dec. 9-10.

Series History – Buckeyes vs. Badgers

Ohio State is 21-76-10 all-time against Wisconsin. Since Nadine Muzerall took over the program in 2016, the Buckeyes are 13-17-4 against the Badgers.
The teams last met in the 2023 national championship game. The Badgers defeated Ohio State, 1-0, to take the national title. They also met in the 2022-23 regular season finale, with Ohio State taking a 3-1 win to earn the program's first WCHA regular season title.
Last season, the Buckeyes finished 3-2 against Wisconsin.
The Buckeyes and Badgers were both voted to finish top of the WCHA in the preseason poll. Ohio State sits one point shy of Wisconsin in the conference standings with 23 points.

Amanda Thiele has earned 44 career wins in goal for Ohio State and has moved into second in the Ohio State record book for career wins. The record is held by Andrea Braendli ('19-22) with 57 career victories in the Scarlet & Gray jersey.
Jenn Gardiner is now sixth in the Ohio State record book for career points by a forward with 140. In fifth is Jeni Creary with 146.
