COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (10-15, 7-9 B1G) travels to Illinois (14-12, 9-7 B1G) on Wednesday night for the teams' second meeting of the season. First serve is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET in a match broadcast on BTN.
- Ohio State holds a 10-15 record this season and a 7-9 record in Big Ten play after a Sunday afternoon loss (23-25, 19-25, 23-25) at Maryland as the teams split their meetings this season. Emily Londot paced the match with 17 kills, while Mia Tuman earned her third-straight double-double with 36 assists and 10 digs. Sarah Sue Morbitzer (12) and Anna McClure (10) also recorded 10+ digs.
- Londot continues to lead Ohio State's offense and the Big Ten in kills/set (4.90) and points/set (5.37). She's among the top-seven in the country in both categories as of Thursday. Londot earned the second 20 kill/20 dig match of her career on Saturday vs. Indiana with 25 kills and tied a career-high 21 digs.
- Â Lauren Murphy leads OSU with 33 aces, ranking third in the B1G (0.43 aces/set) after a career-high seven aces against Minnesota on Nov. 3.
- Tuman ranks fourth in the Big Ten in assists/set (9.66) and broke into the top-20 in program history on 10/21, now ranking 17th with 831 assists.
- Illinois enters the match with a 14-12 overall record and a 9-7 Big Ten record after a four-set loss (14-25, 14-25, 26-24, 22-25) at No. 1 Nebraska on Sunday.
- The Fighting Illini are 7-2 since the Oct. 13 match against OSU with their only other loss coming at No. 2 Wisconsin. Since Oct. 13, Illinois has beaten Rutgers (twice), Maryland, Indiana, then No. 16 Purdue, Northwestern and Iowa.
- Raina Terry continues to lead the Illinois offense and is second in the B1G in both kills/set (4.59) and points/set (5.28). Brooke Mosher ranks seventh in the conference in assists/set (9.11), while Kennedy Collins' hitting percentage (.352) is ninth.Â
- Illinois leads 45-44 in the all-time series against Ohio State and 22-19 when facing the Buckeyes in Champaign.Â
- The Buckeyes enter the match having won the last five against the Fighting Illini, including a four-set win (25-23, 18025, 25-22, 25-23) on Oct. 13 in Columbus earlier this season.
- Illinois' most recent win in the series came in four sets (21-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-16) on Nov. 24, 2019 against an unranked Buckeye squad.
