COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman forward Amanda Schlueter had a fine week last week in a pair of Buckeye victories and she was named the Big Ten's Freshman of the Week.
The Union, Ky., native helped lead Ohio State to a 2-1 win over previously unbeaten and No. 16 Indiana on Thursday and then scored a goal and added an assist in the 2-1 win over Illinois on Sunday. She scored the opening goal of the game on her lone shot of the contest and then made a great pass to deliver what turned out to be the game-winning goal.
For the season, Schlueter has four goals and four assists and is second on the team with 12 points. She has started 11 of the 12 matches and is averaging nearly 70 minutes of field time per game.
The Buckeyes have won three consecutive games and are 7-3-2 on the season and 3-1-1 in Big Ten play. That has then tied for second in the conference, and they are 29 in the current RPI.
