COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeye student-athletes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.

Aaron Buergenthal | Men's Fencing | Sophomore | Columbus, Ohio
Laurence Wootton | Men's Soccer | Sr. | Stoke-on-Trent, England
- Senior All-American Laurence Wootton notched his seventh career game-winning goal in Ohio State's 2-0 road win at Rutgers. He has two this season.
- Wootton scored his team-leading third goal of the season on a first-half penalty kick in Piscataway to help the Buckeyes to their first Big Ten win of the season.
- In four seasons, Wootton has amassed 15 career goals
- Ohio State is home Tuesday (7 p.m./Xavier/Connor Senn Match) and Friday (7 p.m./Michigan/Alumni Recognition Match) this week.
Anna Morris | Women's Volleyball | Jr. | Mahwah, N.J.
- Anna Morris saw her first collegiate volleyball action in Ohio State's Sunday sweep against Maryland after spending the past three years on the women's basketball team at Northwestern.
- Morris entered the match in the third set where she served the team on a 4-0 run that put the set out of reach for Maryland and helped secure the Buckeyes' sweep.
Jenna Buglioni | Women's Hockey | Sr. | Port Moody, B.C.
- Jenna Buglioni scored the game-winning goal in the Buckeyes' 3-2 overtime win over then-ranked No. 4 Colgate Saturday.
- The goal is her second overtime game-winner for her career and sixth game-winning goal of her career. She now has tallied 87 points for her career with 39 goals and 48 points.
- The Buckeyes' assistant captain was also on the ice for Ohio State's game-tying goal in last Friday's season opener.
Amanda Schlueter | Women's Soccer | Fr. | Union, Ky.
- Amanda helped the Buckeyes win a pair of games last week and their third-consecutive overall
- She had a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win over Illinois on Sunday
- She scored the opening goal of the game on her lone shot of the contest. She then made a great pass to deliver what turned out to be the game-winning goal.
- Amanda had four goals and four assists on the season
Audrey Spencer | Women's Tennis | Freshman | Olathe, Kansas
- At the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor over the weekend, Audrey Spencer led the Buckeyes with a 6-0 combined singles and doubles record.
- She was 3-0 in singles, with all three wins coming in straight sets.
- In doubles, Spencer was also a perfect 3-0. She notched two wins with Dani Schoenly and also recorded a win paired with Akanksha Bhan.
Katherine Larimer | Women's Fencing | Junior | Colleyville, Texas
- Larimer started the season claiming the women's saber title at the OSU Open Saturday in French Field House. She was 4-1 in her pool and started the tableau as the No. 4 seed. After a first-round bye, she posted 15-7 and 15-4 victories to reach the final, where she defeated her teammate, Maria Alexe, 15-9, for the title.
- Sunday, Larimer was 11-0, helping the saber squad to a 5-0 record. The Buckeyes women were 5-0 on the day, with wins over Oberlin, Case Western, Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State.
- The English major is a USFCA Scholar of Distinction, Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-Big Ten selection and Ohio State Scholar-Athlete honoree.
Aaron Buergenthal | Men's Fencing | Sophomore | Columbus, Ohio
- Buergenthal was the silver medalist in men's saber in the OSU Open Saturday in French Field House. He was 5-0 in his pool to earn the No. 4 seed heading into direct elimination. After a first-round bye, he posted four victories to reach the final bout, where he fell to teammate Luca Fioretto, 15-10, in the final.
- Sunday in the OSU Duals, Buergenthal was 9-1 in saber, as the squad went 5-0 on the day. The Buckeye men were 5-0 as a team overall.
- The mechanical engineering major was an honorable mention all-conference selection as a freshman last season.
