COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (7-12, 4-6 B1G) hosts Northwestern (10-10, 4-6 B1G) on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. ET in a match broadcast on BTN. The match is usher appreciation night and will also feature trick-or-treat on the concourse.
- Ohio State enters the match with a 7-12 record this season and a 4-6 record in Big Ten play after falling on the road to RV Indiana in five sets (25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 13-15) on Saturday night.
- Senior Emily Londot continues to lead Ohio State's offense as she's the Big Ten leader in kills/set (4.69) and ranks second points/set (5.13). She's among the top-13 in the country in both categories as of Monday.
- Fellow senior Rylee Rader has increased her production to 2.64 kills/set through the past six matches and leads the team this season in hitting percentage (.364 - sixth in the B1G) and aces (18).
- Freshman Mia Tuman ranks fifth in the Big Ten in assists/set (9.26) and broke into the top-20 in program history on 10/21 as she owns 602 assists.
- Freshman Kaitlyn Hoffman has excelled as the Buckeyes' libero (averaging 3.37 digs/set). Freshman Eloise Brandewie leads the Buckeye block with 71 total (0.99 blocks/set) after a career-best seven blocks four times this month (10/1, 10/6, 10/7, 10/21).Â
- Northwestern holds an even 10-10 record on the season and is 4-6 in Big Ten matches after beating Michigan in five sets (25-13, 19-25, 16-25, 28-26, 15-11) on Saturday. The Wildcats' other Big Ten victories include then No. 17 Purdue on Oct. 1, Michigan State and Maryland.
- Other NU wins this season include then No. 13 San Diego, Illinois State, Northern Colorado, Northeastern, Fairfield and Yale with all but the San Diego match being decided in straight sets.
- Julia Sangiacomo leads the Northwestern offense with 4.13 kills/set and 4.46 points/set, ranking fourth in the Big Ten in both categories. Ellee Stinson is third in the B1G with 4.26 digs/set, while setter Alexa Rousseau ranks eighth with 8.88 assists/set.
- Ohio State leads 59-19 in the all-time series against Northwestern and has the 29-6 advantage when facing the Wildcats in Columbus.
- Last season, the Buckeyes won both meetings against the Wildcats - winning in four sets (21-25, 25-23, 25-23 25-15) on Oct. 9 at home and in straight sets (25-22, 25-12, 25-18) on Nov. 4 on the road.
