Ohio State and Indiana battled for nearly three hours to determine a winner in five sets.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Buckeyes (7-12, 4-6 B1G) fell in a five-set marathon match (25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 13-15) against RV Indiana (16-7, 6-4 B1G) in the teams' first meeting of the season on Saturday night in Bloomington. The match lasted nearly three hours.

Ohio State built a large lead early in the first set and held off a late Indiana push to claim a 25-21 set win. Indiana evened the match with a 25-23 win in a back and forth second set. The Hoosiers claimed another tight set win with a 25-22 decision in the third set. Ohio State used an 8-0 run midway through the fourth set to win by a 25-20 margin, forcing a fifth set. Indiana captured the match win with a 15-13 win in the fifth set as the teams traded points to finish the match.

Emily Londot was the first in the match to reach 10 kills, doing so for the 17th time this season and finishing with 25 kills. Londot had her season-high 17 digs for her eighth double-double of the season, also reaching 20 kills for the eighth time to move into fifth in program history with 1,510 career kills. Mi Tuman cracked the top-20 in program history with 602 career assists. Kaitlyn Hoffman (16), Sydney Taylor (11) and Sarah Sue Morbitzer (10) each recorded at least 10 digs. Rylee Rader surpassed 10 kills for the fifth time this season and finished with 12 kills. Lauren Murphy tied her career-high three aces and four blocks. Eloise Brandewie tied her career-high seven blocks.

How it Happened
Emily Londot opened scoring in the match on her first swing. After back-to-back IU points, OSU strung together a 4-0 run to take an early 5-2 lead. The Buckeyes used another 4-0 run featuring two aces from Lauren Murphy to take a 12-6 lead. Londot's fifth kill of the set extended Ohio State's lead to 16-8, forcing a second Indiana timeout. The Hoosiers cut the Buckeyes' lead to 20-17 to prompt an OSU timeout and then cut the deficit to one at 21-20, forcing a second Ohio State timeout. The Buckeyes scored the final three points of the set to earn the 25-21 set win.

Ohio State got within one at 15-14 and again at 19-18 before IU called timeout with a 22-20 lead. The Hoosiers used a 3-0 run to take a 16-14 lead and the Buckeyes called timeout trailing 18-16. IU put together a 4-0 run to extend its lead to 21-16, the largest by either team in the set, to prompt an OSU timeout. The Buckeyes used a 4-1 run to get within two at 23-21 before the Hoosiers called timeout. Ohio State scored out of the timeout but Indiana scored the next two points to take the 25-22 set win.
