COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeye student-athletes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom, or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.
Here are this week's Buckeye Spotlight student-athletes:

Here are this week's Buckeye Spotlight student-athletes:
Irina Cantos Siemers | Women's Tennis | Gr. | Brussels, Belgium
- At the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in East Lansing, Mich., over the last week, Cantos Siemers paired with Luciana Perry to reach the doubles final and advanced to the singles semifinals.
- The Buckeye captain, who is ranked 14th nationally, was making her second appearance in the doubles final after winning the title with Sydni Ratliff in 2021. It was her second semifinal berth at the championships as well.
- Cantos Siemers and Perry won five matches before falling in a tiereaker to a duo from Michigan in the final.
- In singles, Cantos Siemers, the No. 2 seed, posted four wins in a row to reach the semifinal. She rallied to force a third set, but was unable to complete the comeback.
Hadley Hartmetz | Women's Hockey | Gr. | Phoenixville, Pa.
- Hadley Hartmetz recorded her first career hat trick in last Friday's series opener against then-ranked No. 6 Minnesota Duluth. Her three goals helped the Buckeyes win, 5-2.
- She helped the Buckeyes' penalty kill go 9-for-9 on the weekend and tallied one of three power play goals scored by the Buckeyes against the Bulldogs, which helped the program earn its first sweep of Minnesota Duluth in Duluth since 2013.
- Her hat trick in Friday's game was also the Buckeyes' first multi-goal performance of the season.
- Defensively, she blocked three shots in the series and was a key part of the Buckeyes' defensive effort that held Minnesota Duluth to just 16 shots on goal in Saturday's 2-0, the team's first shutout of the Bulldogs since 2021.
Emily Londot | Women's Volleyball | Sr. | Utica, Ohio
- Emily Londot continued to lead the Buckeyes this past weekend against Illinois and No. 15 Purdue, averaging 6.00 kills/set (48 total) and 2.25 digs/set (18 total), while totaling 52.5 points/set. Londot ranks second in the Big Ten in kills/set (4.75) and points/set (5.20) this season.
- In the four-set win against Illinois, Londot earned her seventh double-double of the season, finishing with 22 kills and 11 digs in addition to a pair of aces and four blocks. She was the first in the match to reach 10 kills, doing so in the second set.
- On Sunday against No. 15 Purdue, Londot tied her season-high 26 kills in just four sets and added seven digs, a pair of assists and a block. She was the first again to 10 kills in the match. This was her seventh match of the season with 20+ kills.
- Londot moved up to sixth in program history in career kills (1,476) and 12th in career points (1,677.5) this weekend. She also ranks in the top-20 in block assists (15th with 289) and total blocks (16th with 303).
Molly Pritchard | Women's Soccer | So. | Atlanta, Ga.
- Pritchard stopped all three shots that came her way in Ohio State's 1-0 victory over No. 12 Wisconsin in Madison Sunday.
- This was her third shutout of the season the and the fourth of her career.
- She has made a total of 54 saves on the season, which is seventh in the conference.
- Santos posted her third Top 10 finish of the season at Texas A&M last Friday, placing third in a career-best 6K time of 19:43.8.
- She was also third at the season-opening Wright State meet and finished eighth at Loyola.
- The race wrapped up the regular season for the Buckeyes. Santos, who earned All-Big Ten honors last season, and Ohio State will head to Madison, Wis., for the Big Ten Championships Oct. 27.
- Vellios, a senior defender, scored his first career goal at Indiana Sunday, with the goal tying the match at 1-all in the second half.
- He has been a mainstay in the Buckeye lineup with 47 career starts in 52 appearances but has played just eight matches this year because of injury.
- Ohio State is home Friday vs. Wisconsin (7 p.m.).
- Vongsaga won the Dayton Flyer Invitational, which wrapped up on Tuesday.
- She had a great first day on the course on Monday, finishing the day in sole possession of first place. She fired rounds of 71 (+1) and 70 (E).
- Vongsaga stayed atop the leaderboard throughout the final round. She carded a 73 (+3) to finish with a total score of 214 (+4). It is her lowest 54-hole round as a Buckeye.
- This is the second win of Vongsaga's career, and first since the 2019-20 season when she won the Arizona Wildcat Invitational as a member of the University of Arizona women's golf program.
