COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rutgers scored once in each half and handed Ohio State its first Big Ten loss of the season on Sunday with a 2-0 victory.
This was the first loss on the road this season for the Buckeyes who are now 5-2-1 overall.
How it Happened
Rutgers struck early with a goal in the sixth minute. The Scarlet Knights scored on the counter-attack as Sara Brocious fed a through ball to Allison Lowrey who finished from just inside the box. In the second half, Kylie Daigle slipped a pass through to Brocious who found the back of the net.
The Buckeyes had 12 shots on the day and led 4-3 in corners. Junior midfielder Kine Flotre led the Buckeyes with three shot attempts. Emma Sears had both of the Buckeyes’ shots on goal.

Ohio State remains on the road and will take on rival Michigan this Thursday in Ann Arbor. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on BTN+.
