COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeye student-athletes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom or in the community. ‘Buckeye Spotlight’ recognizes student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.
Here are this week’s ‘Buckeye Spotlight’ student-athletes:

2022 Hall of Fame Class
- On Friday, 15 standouts were enshrined in the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame.
- The Class of 2022 includes Billy Ray Anders (football), Greg Bice (men’s lacrosse), John Bluem (men’s soccer coach), Charles W. Bolen (football/men’s basketball), Joel Brown (men’s track), Aaron Craft (men’s basketball), Adam Crompton (men’s fencing), Jenna Harris Griffin (women’s track), Alayna Markwordt (women’s lacrosse), Russ Nagelson (baseball), Shawn Springs (football), Logan Stieber (wrestling), Jonathan Sweet (baseball), Tom Tupa (football) and Dan Whitacre (wrestling).

Synchronized Swimming | Sync Cancer Swim-a-thon
- On Sunday, the Ohio State synchronized (artistic) swimming team hosted its 10th annual Sync Cancer Swim-a-Thon.
- The event honors former Buckeye Emily Marsh Fleming’s courageous battle with breast cancer.
- This year, the Buckeyes raised over $14,000 for the Team Buckeye Peloton.
- Each year, the team invites participants to McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion to swim laps and raise money for cancer research and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Addie Engel | Women’s Cross Country | Jr. | Springfield, Ohio
- In a race among six Big Ten teams at the Big Ten Preview in Ann Arbor, Engel crossed the finish line of the 6K first in a time of 20:54.4. She was in third with 1K to go but passed two Wolverines on their home course for the win.
- Engel was recognized as the National Athlete of the Week by the USTFCCCA, the first Buckeye in program history to earn the honor during cross country season.
- Friday marked Engel’s second straight race victory and the third of her Buckeye career.
- The All-Big Ten and All-Great Lakes Region selection has finished in the Top 25 in the nine races she has run with her teammates, including six Top 10 placings.

Jenaisya Moore | Women’s Volleyball | Sr. | Germantown, Md.
- The Buckeyes won three-consecutive matches against top-10 teams for the first time in program history by sweeping No. 10 BYU and beating No. 5 Georgia Tech in four sets this past weekend. (The Buckeyes won at No. 3 Louisville the previous weekend).
- Jenaisya Moore earned a spot on the all-tournament team as she was the most efficient Ohio State hitter with more than 10 kills through the two matches, hitting .385.
- Moore hit .500 in the sweep of No. 10 BYU, totaling 12 kills, and also recorded 10 kills in the win at No. 5 Georgia Tech. This extends her streak of totaling at least 10 kills to three-consecutive matches – all of which were won by the Buckeyes.
- Moore, earning a consistent spot in the rotation, has increased her production this season to 2.71 kills and 2.85 points per set.
Neal Shipley | Men’s Golf | Grad. | Pittsburgh, Pa.
- Graduate transfer Neal Shipley made his Buckeye debut last week at the season-opener Frederica Cup and finished tied for 25th at 6-under
- His 6-under 54-hole score of 210 is tied for the best finish of his four-year career
- He fired a second round 67 which is also tied for the lowest round of his career
- For the week, Shipley made a team-high 16 birdies in the three rounds
- Shipley came to Ohio State after three seasons at James Madison and this summer, he won the Pennsylvania Amateur.
