Ohio State Buckeyes talk to the media ahead of the season opener against Notre Dame.
On Saturday being Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka’s first game in the Shoe:
“We can feed off each other, help each other out. Those guys are ready to go. We’ve prepared for a long time, practiced hard, and put in a lot of extra hours afterwards. Those guys are ready. I have full confidence.”
On this season’s defensive line:
“I think those guys are hungry. Coach Knowles, and the new staff that we have, I have full trust in them. I feel like they have a great game plan and those guys are juiced up and ready to go. We’re all ready.”
On catching up to the speed of the game:
“It definitely takes a while, but it’s more about how you play the game. Practice is good. You need to practice as hard as you can, but the game’s going to be different from practice.”
“We’re definitely going to let the country know who we are. We know we’ve got a big opponent coming up, but we’ve been working for them all year.”
On the team’s attitude as a result of last season:
“We’re over the past now. This is a new season, a new start. We’ve got new coaches, different positions, all of that, so we’re past that now. We’re just focused on this season now.”
On new identity on the offensive line with Coach Frye
“I think coach Frye has brought a lot to the table coming into this year. For myself, my confidence level playing for him is at an all time high and I think I speak for all the offensive lineman when I say that. We’re all excited to showcase what we’ve been working on for a couple months now.”
