
No. 11 Buckeyes Shut Out Gophers to Move to 8-0 in B1G Play

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's tennis team posted its seventh win in a row, topping Minnesota, 4-0, Friday in the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
Ohio State, 13-1 in its last 14 matches, is 15-4 overall this season and 8-0 in Big Ten play. The Buckeyes will wrap up the weekend with their final regular season road match, as they take on Wisconsin at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
The doubles tandems of Sydni Ratliff and Kathleen Jones and Lucia Marzal and Irina Cantos Siemers posted wins to put the Buckeyes up 1-0 against the Gophers (14-9, 2-6 B1G). In singles, Marzal, Ratliff and Cantos Siemers all won in straight sets for the victory.

"We played a really solid match today all the way through. Doubles was a great start and that carried over into the singles. We competed hard and will need to do that on Sunday and the rest of the season. I am really proud of where we are right now at this point in the year."
In Doubles
- The Buckeyes took a 1-0 lead with the doubles point, posting wins on courts two and three.
- The duo of Kathleen Jones and Sydni Ratliff won the final four games to defeat Vasia Karvouni and Lucy Lu, 6-2, on court three.
- On court two, the tandem of Irina Cantos Siemers and Lucia Marzal used an early break en route to a 6-4 win over Rachel Hanford and Dalila Said.
- The Buckeye team of Kolie Allen and Isabelle Boulais fought back from down 1-4 to get back on serve, with Minnesota's Emilee Duong and Ekin Ercetin serving 5-4 when their court one match was suspended.
In Singles
- Ohio State won in three sets on courts six, three and one to clinch the match.
- On court six, Lucia Marzal dropped just two games against Lucy Lu, with a second-set shutout.
- 63-ranked Sydni Ratliff quickly followed, as she lost just one first-set game against Ekin Ercetin on court three, for a 3-0 Buckeye lead.
- On court one, No. 8-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers topped Rachel Hanford, 6-3, 6-3, to seal the team win.
- The matches on courts two and five were suspended in the second set, with court four in a third set. Isabelle Boulais and Luna Dormet both won their first sets, while Kolie Allen dropped the first but won the second to force a third.
