COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team heads to Evanston, Ill., for its Big Ten opener at No. 5 Northwestern. The teams will meet at 2 p.m. ET Saturday inside Ryan Fieldhouse, with the game streamed through Big Ten Plus.

- The Buckeyes will host Penn State next Saturday (March 26) in Ohio Stadium.
- The game time has been moved to 2:30 p.m., with the contest now televised by BTN and available on the Fox Sports app (for cable subscribers with BTN).
- Admission is free to the game vs. the Nittany Lions and all regular season home games, with free parking on game day in the east and west stadium lots.
Buckeyes vs. Wildcats
- Ohio State and Northwestern also opened the 2021 Big Ten season in Evanston, Ill., a 23-7 Wildcat win Feb. 14, 2021. The teams faced off in Columbus April 8, 2021, with Northwestern winning 21-14.
- Northwestern is 5-2 this year, with a 4-0 mark at home. The squad last played March 10, beating No. 6 Stony Brook, 16-12, in Evanston.
- The Wildcats are scoring 15.29 goals a game and allowing 14.57 a contest. The squad is ninth nationally with 17.57 draw controls per contest. Lauren Gilbert leads Northwestern with 26 goals and 36 points and Erin Coykendall is second with 18 goals and 30 points and first with 12 assists.

As a team ….
- The Buckeyes enter the game Saturday with wins in their last three games. Ohio State beat Duquesne on the road, 18-8, last Thursday and then topped Mount St. Mary’s, 16-9, Saturday and Marist, 16-5, Tuesday in Ohio Stadium.
- Ohio State is averaging 13.56 goals a game, allowing 9.67 per contest to rank 21st nationally in scoring defense. The team is ninth nationally in draw control percentage (.595) and 19th in draw controls per game (16.00). Ohio State averages 33.44 shots per game to rank 18th in the NCAA.
- The Buckeyes have the edge in ground balls, 161-128, and draw controls, 144-98, against their opponents this season.
Stats Stuff …
- Jamie Lasda leads the Buckeyes with 25 goals and 31 points. Nicole Ferrara has a team-best 10 assists and is second with 16 goals and 26 points. Lindsay Epstein has also hit double-digit goals with 14 and is third with 20 points. Baez (12) and Jamie Level (10) also have hit double-digit goals.
- Senior Chloë Johnson is seventh in the country and first in the Big Ten with 8.33 draw controls per game. She has 10 or more in four games this season, including 29 in the last three games combined. Johnson had a career-high 13 draw controls against Duquesne last week to tie the program record for a single game, set by Molly Wood twice in 2016.
- Johnson has 75 draw controls this season, fourth in program history and just four behind the all-time leaders (Molly Wood/2016 and Katie Chase/2015).
- In her career, Johnson has 160 draw controls, ranking fourth in program history. Current associate head coach Gabby Capuzzi is next on the list, currently third with 166 in the Scarlet and Gray.
- Regan Alexander has started the last eight games in the cage. She leads the Big Ten and is 15th in the NCAA with 71 saves this year, ranking 15th in save percentage (.493) and 16th in goals-against average (9.47).
- Alexander is first for the Buckeyes with 17 ground balls this year, followed by Lindsay Epstein and Jane Cowley with 15 each. Cowley has a team-best 13 caused turnovers.
- Ferrara (14 games, 32g, 13a, 45p), Lasda (10 games, 26g, 6a, 32p), Epstein (5 games, 8g, 4a, 12p), Baez (3 games, 9g, 9p) and Level (3 games, 6g, 1a, 7p) carry scoring streaks of at least three games into Saturday’s contest.
Individually …
- Over the last three games, Lasda led the Buckeyes with 14 goals and points and Baez had nine tallies. Ferrara had a team-best five assists and added five goals for 10 points. Johnson recorded 29 draw controls to pace the team.
- Ferrara had four points, with two goals and two assists, Tuesday vs. Marist, moving her scoring streak to a team-best 14 games. She has 78 points in 30 games as a Buckeye, with 54 goals and 24 assists.
- Graduate student Riley Ewing tallied vs. the Red Foxes, her first goal since notching a hat trick against Kent State Feb. 12, 2020 and the fifth of her career in 53 games in the Scarlet and Gray.
- Kiana Perez scored her first goal as a Buckeye against Marist.
- Baez has multiple goals in each of the last three games, with nine in the stretch. She now has nine games with three or more goals in the Scarlet and Gray.
- Lasda has five games with three-plus goals this season. After recording two goals and five assists for seven points in nine games as a freshman last year, she has 25 goals, six assists and 31 points in nine games this year.
- Epstein has at least one goal in eight of nine games this season and multiple points in seven outings. She has played and started 54 games as a Buckeye, with 53 goals, 18 assists and 71 points, along with 63 ground balls, 46 draw controls and 35 caused turnovers.
