
No. 11 Ohio State Falls to No. 2 North Carolina at ITA National Indoors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11 Ohio State women's tennis team dropped its first round match to No. 2 North Carolina, 4-1, at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Madison, Wis., Friday morning.
Ohio State (2-3) will take on No. 13 Florida in a consolation match at 10 a.m. ET Saturday and will also have a match Sunday (opponent and time TBD). Live scoring and video will be available. TOURNAMENT CENTRAL
Ohio State and North Carolina were meeting in the first round at national indoors for the second year in a row. Friday, the Tar Heels claimed two of three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead, with Isabelle Boulais and Kolie Allen winning for Ohio State. UNC captured the first singles match, with No. 6 Irina Cantos Siemers responding for the Buckeyes for a 2-1 team score. The Tar Heels closed out the next two matches in straight sets for the win.

"Today was disappointing to all of us. UNC is a very good team so I want to give a lot of credit to them. Now we need to regroup. We have another great opportunity tomorrow and we will do our best to be ready."
In Doubles
- North Carolina took the doubles point for a 1-0 lead.
- On court one, the No. 13-ranked tandem of Fiona Crawley and Elizabeth Scotty won five of the final six games to defeat the Ohio State tandem of Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff, 6-3.
- On court two, the Buckeye duo of Isabelle Boulais and Kolie Allen took a 3-0 lead and didn't look back, defeating No. 56-ranked Cameron Morra and Carson Tanguilig, 6-3, breaking on the deciding point.
- Doubles was decided on court three, where the Buckeye duo of Luna Dormet and Lucia Marzal was unable to come back from a 5-0 hole and lost 6-2.
In Singles
- UNC won three of four completed singles matches in straight sets to advance.
- The Tar Heels' No. 27-ranked Elizabeth Scotty posted a win over No. 21 Isabelle Boulais for a 2-0 lead. The loss was the first for Boulais in a dual match this season (4-1).
- In a Top 10 matchup on court one, No. 6 Irina Cantos Siemers dropped just four games, as she defeated No. 4 Cameron Morra, 6-0, 6-4, to put the Buckeyes on the board.
- On court three, No. 77-ranked Sydni Ratliff lost in straight sets to No. 7 Reilly Tran for a 3-1 UNC advantage.
- The Tar Heels clinched the team win with a victory by No. 19 Fiona Crawley on court four over Kolie Allen.
- The matches on court five and six were abandoned, with UNC up a set in both.
