
No. 11 Ohio State Tops No. 13 Gators, 4-3

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Isabelle Boulais won in the three sets to clinch a 4-3 victory for the No. 11 Ohio State women's tennis team over No. 13 Florida Saturday in consolation play of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Madison, Wis.
Ohio State (3-3) will close out the weekend against Auburn at 10 a.m. ET Sunday in a consolation match. Live scoring and video will be available. TOURNAMENT CENTRAL
Saturday against Florida, after the Buckeye tandem of Luna Dormet and Lucia Marzal won on court three, the Gators captured the doubles point, winning in tiebreakers on courts one and two. The teams split the first two completed singles matches, with freshman Shelly Bereznyak winning for Ohio State, before back-to-back wins by Buckeyes Kolie Allen and Sydni Ratliff put Ohio State in the lead, 3-2. Florida won the next match, leaving the team score to be decided by court two. Boulais won the first set but dropped the second. She pulled away in the third to clinch her match and the team victory.

"I'm really proud of our effort today. It's tough to lose a doubles point like that but we responded well in singles. Shelly got a win quickly which was so important. Everyone out there hung in their matches and competed hard. We have one more opportunity tomorrow and we are looking forward to it."
In Doubles
- After the Buckeyes won the first doubles match off court, the Gators rallied to win the other two in tiebreakers for the doubles point.
- The Ohio State duo of Lucia Marzal and Luna Dormet took a 4-0 lead en route to a 6-2 win over McCartney Kessler and Emma Shelton on court three.
- On court two, the No. 27-ranked duo of Alicia Dudeney and Bente Spee rallied from down 5-1 to take a 6-5 lead against Buckeyes Kolie Allen and Isabelle Boulais. The Buckeyes held to force a tiebreaker. In the breaker, the Gators led early; Ohio State cut the score to 6-5 but the Gators clinched the next point.
- On court one, Buckeyes Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff led the No. 6-ranked duo of Carly Briggs and Marlee Zein 5-2 before the Gators evened the match. The teams each held for a tiebreaker, which was back and forth with Florida ultimately winning, 7-5.
In Singles
- Buckeye freshman Shelly Bereznyak wasted no time on court six, topped Bente Spee, 6-1, 6-1, to tie the match.
- On court one, No. 6-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers fell to Florida's McCartney Kessler in straight sets for a 2-1 Gator lead.
- The Buckeyes won the next two matches.
- On court four, Kolie Allen defeated No. 84-ranked Emma Shelton, 7-6, (4), 6-4 and No. 77-ranked Sydni Ratliff followed with a three-set victory, topping No. 61 Marlee Zein, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
- Florida tied the match as Carly Briggs came from a set down to defeat Buckeye Lucia Marzal, ranked 114th, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
- The match was decided on court two, where No. 21-ranked Isabelle Boulais defeated Alicia Dudeney. The Buckeye won the first set in a tiebreaker and dropped the second, 4-6. In the third, Boulais came back from an early break and was able to pull away to win 6-3 and clinch the team victory. She is 5-1 this spring.
