No. 11 Ohio State Posts 4-1 Win over No. 24 Oklahoma State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11 Ohio State women's tennis team opened its home slate with a 4-1 win over No. 24 Oklahoma State in an ITA Kickoff Weekend match Saturday in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
The Buckeyes will play No. 20 Tennessee, which beat No. 21 LSU 4-0, at 1 p.m. Sunday for a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship. The Cowgirls will face the Lady Vols at 10 a.m. in the consolation match. Live video and scoring for both matches will be available.
Freshman Sydni Ratliff was a winner in singles and doubles for the Buckeyes against the Cowgirls, while Isabelle Boulais and Kolie Allen both won in singles. Ohio State won the doubles point with victories from the tandems of Irina Cantos Siemers and Ratliff and Luna Dormet and Lucia Marzal.

"It was nice to be back at home today. We had a tough weekend last weekend but I think it prepared us well for today. We are going to have a really tough match tomorrow so we need to get ourselves ready."
In Doubles
- The teams split the first two doubles matches, with the point coming down to court three. All three matches finished 6-4.
- Oklahoma State notched the first win, with Mhai Sawangkaew and Martina Zerulo defeating Isabelle Boulais and Kolie Allen.
- Ohio State's No. 29-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff topped Dariya Detkovskaya, winning the final two games. It was the tandem's first competitive match at home since clinching the ITA Midwest Region title in the fall.
- On court three, Buckeyes Lucia Marzal and Luna Dormet won the final three games to defeat Ayumi Miyamoto and Sofia Rojas and clinch the doubles point for the Buckeyes.
In Singles
- Ohio State prevailed on three singles courts for the team victory. The Buckeyes won five of six first sets to take control of the match.
- Isabelle Boulais, the reigning Big Ten Athlete of the Week, dropped just one game on court two to defeat Marina Zerulo, 6-1, 6-0. She is a team-best 3-0 in dual matches this spring.
- Oklahoma State took the next match, with Dariya Detkovskaya defeating Luna Dormet, 6-4, 6-1, for a 2-1 team score.
- Ohio State closed out the team win with 6-4, 6-4 victories on courts three and four.
- Freshman and No. 123-ranked Sydni Ratliff topped No. 55 Oona Orpana on court three to put the Buckeyes ahead 3-1.
- Senior Kolie Allen prevailed against Ayumi Miyamoto to clinch the team win.
- Irina Cantos and Lucia Marzal were both leading in their matches when play was suspended.
