COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman forward Kailyn Dudukovich has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for her efforts vs. Minnesota and No. 12 Penn State last week.
In the match vs. Minnesota, Dudukovich staked the Buckeyes to a 2-0 lead with two goals in less than a five-minute span. She finished a great play in the 17th minute that was started by Kayla Fischer and continued on by Emaly Vatne. She then knocked home a bouncing ball off a corner kick by Izzy Rodriguez that made its way through the middle of the box and found Dudukovich on the back post.
Those two goals were her fourth and fifth of the season and ties her with Emma Sears for tops on the team. The West Chester, Ohio native then played 76 minutes in the Buckeyes’ 1-0 victory at No. 12 Penn State. That was the first win for Ohio State in State College since 2008.
The Buckeyes are 7-4-0 on the season and 2-1-0 in Big Ten play. They will host Indiana this Thursday and then No. 9 Rutgers on Sunday.
