Moldovan and Chandler Under Par on Day 1 at Windon Memorial

GLENCOE, Ill. – Ohio State sophomore Maxwell Moldovan and junior Jackson Chandler are each under par through the first two rounds of the Windon Memorial at Lake Shores Country Club in Glencoe, Ill. They led the Buckeyes who carded rounds of 287-286 (+5) and sit in 12th place overall.
Moldovan made a total of nine birdies on the day and carded a pair of rounds at par or better with a 2-under 69 and an even-par 71. Chandler made three bogies in his first five holes of the day but bounced-back to finish with a 1-over 72 in the opening round and then made three birdies and just one bogey in a 2-under 69.
Patrick Schmucking and JonErik Alford, who is playing as an individual, each shot rounds of 72-73 and stand in a tie for 51st at 3-over par. Marco Steyn had a tough start to his day but did play a stretch of 18 holes that spanned the first and second rounds at 2-under par. He finished the day with rounds of 74-73 and is 5-over par. Freshman Jacob Tarkany posted a pair of 75s and it tied for 82nd at 8-over.
The second round was suspended by darkness with five teams still on the course. Play will resume at 8:30 a.m. ET and the final round will start at 9:15 a.m. ET.
