COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State continues it home stand on Thursday evening by host another in-state foe in Bowling Green. The Buckeyes are 1-1 on the year following its 4-1 win over Akron on Sunday night. Bowling Green comes in off road losses at Notre Dame and Michigan. First touch is set for 7 p.m. and B1G+ will stream the action.
- This is the eighth all-time meeting between the two teams and the first since 2009. Ohio State leads the series 5-1-1.
- The Buckeyes are coming off a 4-1 victory Sunday evening over Akron in the 2021 home opener. Emma Sears scored three times in the win while freshman Kailyn Dudukovich registered the first goal of her career.
- Bowling Green has opened the season with a pair of road setbacks at Notre Dame (3-1) and at Michigan (2-1). The Wolverines scored in the 75th minute to break the 1-1 on Sunday night.
- The hat trick Emma Sears turned in on Aug. 22 vs. Akron was the second of her career. She also had one vs. Wisconsin on Feb. 25, 2021.
- The win vs. Akron on Aug. 22 was the 300th in program history. Head coach Lori Walker-Hock, who is in her 25th season at Ohio State, has been on the sidelines for 263 of those victories.
- Kayla Fischer, Izzy Rodriguez and Emma Sears were all named 2021 Big Ten Women’s Soccer Players to Watch.
- Rodriguez was named to the MAC Hermann Award Watch List as well as the TopDrawerSoccer Best XI second team.
- The Buckeyes named four captains for this season in Izzy Rodriguez, Kayla Fischer, Melissa Birzon and Emaly Vatne.

- Ohio State has a veteran group in 2021 and returned 10 of 11 starters from last year’s NCAA Tournament Team.
- In goal, Bailey Kolinski started all 14 games last season and each of the first two games this season.
- Izzy Rodriguez is the reigning Big Ten Defender of the Year and a third team United Soccer Coaches All-American. She left the BYU game late with an ankle injury and did not play against Akron.
- Kayla Fischer was a first team All-Big Ten honoree last year as she scored five goals and had 14 points. She is currently 14th in program history with 163 shots attempts.
- Emma Sears led the team in goals (7) and points (17) as a sophomore last season. Both of those totals were in the Top 4 in the Big Ten. She had a hat trick vs. Akron, the second of her career.
- Peyton McNamara was the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Year last year and played for the Jamaican National Team this past summer.
- Senior Talani Barnett has played in 49 games, the second-most of any Buckeye on the roster this season.
- Midfielder Kine Flotre scored three goals as a freshman last season.
- Freshman Kailyn Dudukovich scored the first of what may be many goals in her career on Aug. 22 vs. Akron.
