Full 2021 Fall Schedule Released

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team will resume a traditional competition schedule this fall following a 2021 Spring season that saw the Buckeyes advance to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament and finish second in the Big Ten regular-season.
The Buckeyes will open the 2021 Fall schedule, the 25th season under the direction of head coach Lori Walker-Hock, after an 8-3-3 spring finish.
The next win in the 29-year history of the program will be No. 300. In the 28 previous seasons, the Buckeyes have an overall record of 299-216-55.
Notre Dame will host Ohio State in a scrimmage to open the season Aug. 10 in South Bend before the Buckeyes entertain Pittsburgh in a home scrimmage at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium Aug. 13.
The regular-season nonconference schedule begins with a road match at BYU Aug. 19. The Buckeyes also travel to Dayton Sept. 9.
Akron (Aug. 22), Bowling Green (Aug. 26), North Carolina (Aug. 29), Central Florida (Sept. 2), Navy (Sept. 5) and TCU (Sept. 12) will take on the Buckeyes in Columbus during non-Big Ten Conference action.
Ohio State’s 2021 Fall Big Ten schedule, released in late May (Here) includes home games vs Minnesota Sept. 23, Indiana (Sept. 30), Rutgers (Oct. 3), Purdue (Oct. 14) and Michigan (Oct. 17).
Road contests will be against Maryland (Sept. 19), Penn State (Sept. 26), Michigan State (Oct. 10), Wisconsin (Oct. 21) and at Northwestern (Oct. 24) to end the regular-season.
The Buckeyes were not only successful on the field last Spring but were equally impressive academically.
A total of 21 Buckeyes were named Ohio State Scholar Athletes, while senior Izzy Rodriguez and junior Kayla Fischer were named Scholar All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches, who also named Rodriguez a third team All-American defender.
Rodriguez, the Big Ten Defender of the Year and First Team All-Big Ten member in the Spring of 2021, joined freshman Peyton McNamara (Co-Freshman of the Year, All-Big Ten Freshman Team), Fischer (First team All-Big Ten), sophomore Emma Sears (Second Team All-Big Ten), senior Alyssa Baumbick and junior Talani Barnett (both Third Team All-Big Ten) on the all-conference awards list last spring.
