Buckeyes Blow Past Boilermakers 7-0

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – For the second time this season, Ohio State blasted Purdue 7-0 and has now won six consecutive matches.
Overall, the Buckeyes improve to 15-2 on the year while Purdue falls to 1-13.
“The guys are starting to get some confidence,” said senior John McNally. “We’ve played on the road the last couple of weekends and it’s been tough. But I think we’re starting to click. Doubles is getting close. We have another big match on Sunday at Indiana to close out this road trip.”
The doubles point didn’t take long on Friday as Cannon Kingsley and JJ Tracy won 6-2 over Mateo Julio and Andre Suzanne while McNally and Robert Cash won 6-4 on court two.
In singles, the Buckeyes surrendered just 21 games combined in the six singles wins. Justin Boulais was the first done with a 6-1, 6-2 victory on court four. Tracy was close behind after his 6-1, 6-1 win, which was his 19th consecutive victory. James Trotter delivered the clinching point with his own 6-2, 6-1 win. Kyle Seelig also won by a score 6-1, 6-2 to push the score to 4-0.
Kingsley and McNally provided the final two points at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots. Kingsley improves to 22-0 on the season while McNally is now 18-2.
The Buckeyes will play their final regular season road match on Sunday at Indiana. The match will start at Noon. OSU beat Indiana 7-0 earlier this season on March 7 in Columbus.
