
Buckeyes Close Road Trip with Another Win, Beat IU 6-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – No. 8 Ohio State closed the road portion of the regular season with a 6-1 victory on Sunday afternoon over Indiana in Bloomington.
The Buckeyes are now 16-2 on the season and have won seven consecutive matches. This also the 23rd straight win over Indiana in the all-time series.
The Buckeyes seem to be hitting their stride with the doubles point. They rolled again on Sunday, winning 6-3 on both courts one and two. John McNally and Robert Cash claimed the win on one and James Trotter and Justin Boulais won on court two. Cannon Kingsley and JJ Tracy were leading 5-4 on court three when the point was clinched.
In singles, Kingsley continued his impressive run. The Northport, N.Y. native is now 23-0 following his 6-1, 6-2 win on court two over Andrew Redding. Kyle Seelig won by the same score on court four to make it 2-0 and then Cash provided the clinching point with a convincing 6-0 6-2 win on court six over Vikash Singh.
James Trotter made it 5-0 with another solid 6-1, 7-5 win, his eighth of the season. Indiana got their lone point with a win on court one but then Tracy capped the day with his 20th consecutive win, a three-set 4-6, 6-4, 10- (10-4) win over Ilya Tiraspolsky.
The Buckeyes will host Michigan State on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. and then will take on Michigan on Sunday at Noon. Both matches will be played at the Auer Tennis Complex. Ohio State and Michigan are currently tied for the top spot in the Big Ten East Standings.
