
Buckeyes Suffer 1-0 Setback at Penn State

COLUMBUS, Ohio — No. 25 Ohio State (3-3-1 B1G) fell at Penn State (5-1-0) 1-0 Tuesday at Jeffrey Field in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Ohio State was able to put pressure on the Penn State net with 11 shots, five getting through to the frame, all saved by the Nittany Lion keeper.
Junior Xavier Green led the Buckeyes with four shots. Seniors Joshua Jackson-Ketchup and Mitch Bergman and freshmen Laurence Wootton (2) and Thomas Gilej were credited with OSU’s shots on goal.
The Nittany Lions led 5-2 in corners, one of which led to the game’s only goal.
Keeper Noah Lawrence faced nine shots, stopping two of three on net.
The game, played under partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the low 60s, was scoreless at the half with the Buckeyes leading in shots (5-4) and shots on goal (2-1).
The Buckeyes return to Columbus to face Rutgers at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
