
Buckeyes Back in the Win Column with 6-1 win at Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – No. 12 Ohio State lost the doubles point but rebounded to win all six singles matches and downed Minnesota 6-1 on Friday afternoon in Minneapolis.
The win lifts the Buckeyes to 10-2 on the season while Minnesota falls to 4-4 and sees its three-match win streak snapped.
For the second consecutive match, the Buckeyes dropped the doubles point as John McNally and Robert Cash fell 6-3 to Siim Troost and Vlad Lobak on court one and Cannon Kingsley and Kyle Seelig lost 7-5 to Jackson Allen and Sebastian Vile on court two. OSU did get a 6-2 win from Justin Boulais and JJ Tracy on court three.
But singles was a different story. Seelig raced to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Troost on court four and McNally followed with an impressive 6-2, 6-1 win over Jackson Allen on court one. Kingsley made it 3-1 Buckeyes with his 17th win of the season, a 6-3, 6-2 win over Lobak. The clinching point came from Cash on court six as he beat Daniel Martin 6-3, 6-2.
Tracy and Trotter capped the singles sweep as Tracy won the final eight games of the match and Tracy claimed a 10-8 win in a super-breaker.
The Buckeyes will look for a weekend sweep when they travel to Wisconsin on Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET match against the Badgers.
