
Alum Alec Yoder Wins Pommel Horse Title at Winter Cup

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Buckeye Alec Yoder recently competed at the USA Gymnastics-sanctioned Winter Cup Challenge at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
Yoder, one of the most decorated gymnasts in Ohio State history, took first place on pommel horse with a score of 29.500 (14.650/14.850). He also finished third on parallel bars with a 27.450 (13.550/13.900).
During his time in Columbus from 2016-19, Yoder was an eight-time All-American. The Indianapolis native won the 2019 NCAA National Championship and Big Ten titles on pommel horse. Yoder earned All-Big Ten honors every year, including three appearances on the first team. He was also the conference’s pommel horse champion in 2016 and went on to be named freshman of the year.
