No. 9 Buckeyes Fall to No. 1 Tar Heels at ITA Indoors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In the quarterfinals of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, the No. 9-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team lost to No. 1 seed and No. 1 ranked North Carolina, 4-0, Friday morning in Stillwater, Okla.
In their next match, the Buckeyes (2-1) will take on the loser of a match between No. 6 Georgia Tech and No. 4 Pepperdine at 10 a.m. ET Saturday. North Carolina (5-0) advances to the semifinals and will face the winner of the match between the Yellow Jackets and Waves. Each team in the tournament will play three matches.

In Doubles
- The doubles point came down to court two.
- The Tar Heels won on court three, 6-2, with Allie Sanford and Reilly Tran defeating Irina Cantos Siemers and Lucia Marzal.
- On court one, the Buckeye duo of Kolie Allen and Isabelle Boulais then posted a 6-3 victory over Sara Daavettila and Cameron Morra, holding on the no-ad point for the win.
- On court two, the tandem of Cameron Morra and Elizabeth Scotty prevailed over Luna Dormet and Lisa Hofbauer, 6-3, for the doubles point and 1-0 team lead.
In Singles
- The Tar Heels posted straight-set wins on courts one, two and four for the team victory.
- 4-ranked Daavettila topped Allen, 6-2, 6-0, on court one and No. 3-ranked Alexa Graham followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win over No. 78 Cantos Siemers on court one. The loss was the first for Cantos Siemers this season.
- No. 79 Scotty clinched the final point as she defeated Hofbauer, 6-4, 6-3, on court four.
- Buckeyes Isabelle Boulais and Lucia Marzal both won the first set in their matches. Marzal dropped the second against No. 49 Makenna Jones on court five but was ahead 3-0 in the third set when play was suspended. Boulais and No. 6 Morra were just underway in the third set on court three when the match was clinched.
