COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 8-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team improved to 5-0 in Big Ten play with a 6-1 win over Michigan State Friday morning in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center. The Buckeyes are now 8-2 overall this season, while the Spartans fall to 3-3 and 3-2 in league action.
Irina Cantos Siemers, Luna Dormet and Lucia Marzal all won in singles and doubles against the Spartans. Tanisha Kashyap and Isabelle Boulais contributed singles wins, while Lisa Hofbauer paired with Marzal for a doubles victory.

In Doubles
- For the fifth match in a row, the Buckeyes won the doubles point.
- The duo of Lucia Marzal and Lisa Hofbauer was finished first, defeating Ayshe Can and Dagmar Zdrubecka, 6-2, on court two. The tandem is 3-0 in dual matches, all in conference action.
- On court three, Irina Cantos Siemers and Luna Dormet topped Mary Lewis and Lauren Lemonds, 6-2, winning on the deciding point. The duo has a 3-0 record overall this year and in B1G play.
- The match on court one was suspended with Buckeyes Isabelle and Kolie Allen leading Samantha Memije and Nicole Stephens, 5-2.
In Singles
- Marzal dropped just three games for a 2-0 Buckeye lead, as she defeated Stephens, 6-2, 6-1, on court five. She remains undefeated in Big Ten play (4-0) and is 7-1 in dual play.
- On court four, Dormet won 6-2, 6-0 over Can to put Ohio State up 3-0. Dormet is 7-0 in dual matches and 9-0 overall in 2021, with a 4-0 B1G mark.
- Cantos Siemers clinched the team win, downing Memije on court two, 6-3, 6-2. Cantos Siemers, ranked 78th, leads the Buckeyes with 10 overall wins this year. She has a 7-2 dual match record and 4-1 mark in conference action.
- Boulais was a 7-5, 6-3 winner over Lewis on court one. She is on a four-match winning streak and 5-2 in dual matches this year.
- On court six, Tanisha Kashyap rallied to take the first set, 6-4, and then claimed the second, 6-2, to down Tia Makherjee. The freshman is 4-1 in dual matches this spring, with all four wins in B1G play.
- The final match was on court three. Hofbauer won the first 7-5 before Michigan State's Lemonds took the second by the same score. Lemonds jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the super tiebreaker; Hofbauer battled back to tie the score at eight, but Lemonds won the final two points for the match.
