
Buckeyes Cruise to 3-0 win over Iowa

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team (5-0, 5-0 B1G) built early leads in the opening two sets and never trailed in either game to hand Iowa (1-5, 1-5 B1G) a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-21) defeat Friday at the Covelli Center in Columbus.
The Buckeyes are off to their best start since 2016.
The Buckeyes hit .308 for the match (45-13-104) while the Hawkeyes managed a .029 hitting percentage in the loss (24-21-105). Jenaisya Moore and Emily Londot each recorded 10 kills to lead the Buckeyes.
Vanja Bukilic connected on nine of her 13 error-free swings for a .692 hitting percentage.
Mac Podraza recorded 32 assists and Kylie Murr led Ohio State with 18 digs.
The Buckeyes also had a season-high 13 rejections at the net.
SET 1: Ohio State jumped to 6-0 lead on its way to a 25-17 win. The Hawkeyes closed to gap to 16-15 but the Buckeyes won nine of the next 11 points for the win. Ohio State hit .414 with Emily Londot leading the way with six kills and hitting .500 (6-1-10).
SET 2: The second set played out much like the first. The Buckeyes got out to a fast start, leading 7-1. Ohio State then finished strong winning 25-15. The Hawkeyes hit -.029 (7-8-35) in the set while the Buckeyes hit .333 (14-2-36).
SET 3: Ohio State closed out the match with a 25-21 win to improve to 5-0.
