Liddell Named to Preseason All-Big Ten Team

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior forward E.J. Liddell was a unanimous selection for the 2021-22 Preseason All-Big Ten Team. Liddell is one of 11 players on the preseason list.
The Belleville, Ill., native was one of five unanimous honorees. He had a great 2020-21 season where he averaged 16.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. He also led the team with 31 blocked shots and free throws made and attempted (126-of-169). He was one of five players named first team All-Big Ten last season and he also earned All-Big Ten Tournament Team accolades. Playing in his first NCAA Tournament, Liddell led the Buckeyes with 23 points and 14 rebounds against Oral Roberts for the fourth double-double of his career.
Liddell enters this season with 677 career points and 310 career rebounds.
The College Hoops Today Preseason All-American was also named to the 2022 Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award Watch List earlier this preseason. He is one of 20 players nationally to appear on that watch list.
Liddell and the Buckeyes will host Indianapolis in an exhibition game on Nov. 1 and then will open the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 vs. Akron.
