In response to the recent generosity from Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith and his wife Sheila, Head Coach Ryan Day and his wife Nina, Head Coach Chris Holtmann and his wife Lori, and additional athletics assistant coaches, Buckeyes Care partners Kroger and Donatos Pizza are continuing the fight to help end hunger.
Donatos is giving Buckeye Nation new avenues to show their support with a donation to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
Available now through the end of May, fans in Central Ohio can add-on a donation to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank while placing their order online for a Donatos Pizza pickup or delivery. In addition to their support of our coaches’ initiatives, Donatos Pizza provides support to the Reeb Avenue Center and South Side Roots Café that is providing over 150 meals per day in Central Ohio during this unprecedented time.
Kroger locations across Central Ohio have also launched an Emergency COVID-19 Response Fund. Â Fans will be able to add $1 / $5 / and $10 donations to the fund when checking out at Kroger registers. The funding supports local food banks and initiatives to ensure children have access to meals with schools closed. $3 million has already been equally distributed between Feeding America and No Kid Hungry to rapidly deploy hunger-relief resources to food-insecure communities.
Want to donate directly to our local Feeding America Food Bank? For every dollar donated, the Mid-Ohio Foodbank can secure $9 worth of groceries. Anyone interested in donating and helping those affected by Covid-19 can still visit www.midohiofoodbank.org/buckeyenation to donate virtually.
