
Buckeyes Fall to No. 5 UNC at ITA Indoors

MADISON, Wis. – Ohio State’s win streak ended Sunday a as they fell to the Tar Heels in the semifinal round of the ITA Indoor Championship.
In doubles, No. 1 John McNally and Robert Cash lost 2-6 on court one to William Blumberg and Brian Cernoch. James Trotter and Justin Boulais lost 4-6 on court two to Simon Soendergaard and Mac Kiger, giving UNC the doubles point.
In singles, Justin Boulais fell 2-6,2-6 to Rinki Hijitaka to extend the Tar Heels match lead to 2-0. Robert Cash dropped two sets 1-6, 2-6 to Simon Soendergaard and James Trotter fell 4-6, 5-7 to Brian Cernoch for the match point.
The Buckeyes resume play on Feb. 22 in South Bend, Ind. to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
