
Kierstan Bell Earns Second B1G Freshman of the Week Honor

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman guard Kierstan Bell has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second time this season after leading the Buckeyes to a comeback win at No. 24 Minnesota on Dec. 31.
The Canton, Ohio native scored all of her team-high tying 13 points in the decisive second half. She made a season-high three three-pointers and also blocked a season-high two shots. The Buckeyes led by six points at halftime but scored just 10 points in the third quarter. Bell had eight of those 10 points which helped keep the Buckeyes close as they trailed by two points heading to the fourth.
Bell was also named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Dec. 9 following wins over No. 2 Louisville and Radford. Overall, this is the third week a Buckeye has been named Freshman of the Week as Jacy Sheldon earned the award on Dec. 23.
