COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Wednesday night, 23 members of the Ohio State field hockey team were named Scholar-Athletes at Ohio State’s annual Scholar-Athlete Dinner. The group was honored among a total of 674 Ohio State student-athletes who earned the recognition.
Senior Courtney Daniels (accounting) is the team’s four-time Scholar-Athlete. She is among 85 student-athletes who were honored at the dinner who have earned the distinction at least four times. She is the 44th student-athlete in program history to be a four-time honoree.
Twelve members of the team earned their first Scholar-Athlete distinction: Aaliyah Hernandez (biology), Julia Dickinson (arts & sciences – undecided), Kennedy Fertitta (management & industry exploring), Emma Goldean (exploration), Jessica Hourihane (exploration), Mara Hunter (public management, leadership, & policy), Abby Kopec (exploration), Tess Maloney (exploration), Katie Pyle (early childhood education), Sina Schwinn (psychology), Nikki Trzaska (marketing) and Delaney Versprille (exploration).
To receive the distinction, a student-athlete must carry a 3.0 or better grade-point average.
