
Jacob Fielding Earns Big Ten Diver, Freshman of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Jacob Fielding is the Big Ten Conference Diver and Freshman of the Week, the office announced on Wednesday.
Fielding, a native of Los Angeles, Calif., earns his second Diver of the Week honor this season and first Freshman of the Week nod. On Friday, Nov. 2, Fielding swept the 1-meter and 3-meter titles in a dual meet against Denison, scoring 352.10 and 379.45, respectively. The freshman has been a model of consistency for the Buckeyes, placing in the Top Two in at least one event in four consecutive dual meets and the Top Five in both events at all four meets this season.
Fielding’s best 3-meter performance this season is ranked No. 10 in the nation with a score of 413.78. Buckeye diving has been strong across the boards, with Fielding one of two from OSU ranked in the Top 10 in 3-meter diving.
Fielding returns to action on Friday, Nov. 9 in an exhibition meet with Kenyon at 6 p.m. Selected members of the Ohio State swimming & diving team will represent the Scarlet and Gray at the Big Ten vs. ACC Swimming & Diving Challenge on Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 10-11 in West Lafayette, Ind.
