Last Time Out
The Buckeyes suffered a setback against the Bemidji State Beavers last weekend, dropping both contests.
Friday’s game saw OSU fall behind 2-0 before Emma Maltais cut into the BSU lead in the third period. The rally came up short, though, as the Buckeyes fell 2-1. Saturday’s game came with more drama with the teams trading goals in the second period, but two third period goals from the Beavers sent Ohio State home with a 4-2 loss.

Buckeye Bits
Emma Maltais leads the Buckeyes and the WCHA with 21 points, tied for the highest total in the nation. She ranks first in the conference with 15 assists and 1.07 assists-per-game. Her 15 assists lead the nation, and she’s one of the two WCHA players to notch a shorthanded goal this season.
Madison Field moved into a tie for 13th place all-time at Ohio State after tallying two points over the weekend, pushing her career total to 89 points. In Saturday’s game she lit the lamp to notch the 50th goal of her career, becoming only the sixth player in program history to score 50 goals. For the season she sits at 11 points from seven goals and four assists.
Charly Dahlquist comes in second on the team with 13 points from six goals and seven assists. Her hot start to the season has her just two goals away from tying her career high for a season, eight, just 14 games into the season. Dahlquist comes in at fifth in the WCHA with 13 points.
Andrea Braendli ranks third in the WCHA with a .934 save percentage. She’s made 311 saves this season, good for second in the conference.
Tatum Skaggs is tied for the team lead with seven goals and is tied for the WCHA lead as well. She’s tied for ninth in the nation in goals. She tallied her first assist of the year in the Bemidji State series.
Jincy Dunne leads all WCHA defensemen with 12 points this year. She’s scored one goal and tallied 11 assists. Her assist total also leads all the defensemen in the conference.

Dunne Earns WCHA Defenseman of the Week
For the first time in her career, Jincy Dunne earned the WCHA Defenseman of the Week award on Nov. 13. Dunne tallied two assists against Bemidji State while blocking five shots. She tied the conference high for both points and assists over the weekend, and her five blocks tied the second highest total of the weekend.

The Bulldog File
Minnesota Duluth is led from the back by goaltender Maddie Rooney. Fresh off an Olympic goal medal campaign, Rooney has kept things rolling with a .930 save percentage this season. Three different Bulldogs lead the team with eight points each. Naomi Rogge comes into the series with five goals, the team high, and three assists. Ryleigh Houston and Gabbie Hughes have an even split of four goals and four assists each.
Ohio State comes into the weekend with a 15-66-7 record against Minnesota Duluth, but last season saw the each team protect its home ice as the teams split the season series 2-2.
The teams met first in Columbus last season where OSU shutout the Bulldogs, 2-0, in the opening contest. Madison Field and Julianna Iafallo scored as Ohio State stopped all 35 UMD shots to secure the shutout. The following game saw an uptick in scoring, but the same end result. Field and Iafallo scored again, while Emma Maltais and Jacyn Reeves added goals to clinch a 4-3 win.
When the teams met again in Duluth in January the OSU offense fell flat as the Buckeyes dropped the first game, 4-1, and the second game 2-1.
