Ryan Pedon
On the past four weeks of practice: I feel like it’s been a productive month. You’re fighting each and every day to learn and to grow and to teach and implement your system a little bit more every day.
On Keyshawn Woods: His maturity was very appealing to us. If you get to know Keyshawn, he’s a mild mannered young man, very high character. We didn’t think there’d be any sort of separation coming in the door. He’ll bring the maturity. He’ll provide a lot of things for our team this year on and off the court
On filling Tate’s leadership role: Jae’Sean was a guy who had been here for so long. His personality was infectious. He was the spirit of our team. In the locker room, I think guys followed him and they probably didn’t even know they were following his lead.
Mike Schrage
Biggest challenge: We need guys to step up in new roles. We can’t be happy with first year success because we just want to keep building. It will be a challenge. We have to make sure these guys are ready to step up and never be satisfied.
Biggest question for the upcoming season: Collectively, scoring. How do we score enough points. We’ve got to be elite defensively, high-level defensively like we were last year and put ourselves in a position to win every game.
Terry Johnson
On playing against another team on Saturday and what he’s curious to see: I’m interested to see how our young guys are going to respond and how our group is going to respond together, because it is a new team. They haven’t been through the wars together yet.
On who’s stepping up as leaders: CJ Jackson has been doing a good job. He has to continue doing that. Kaleb (Wesson) has been doing okay. As far as a young guy, it’s probably Luther Muhammad. He’s been pretty steady, hasn’t been too high or too low. That’s good to see.
